SUMMARY
=======

If the "Automatically snap to frame" option is set in the Dopesheet Setup
dialog box, then fcurve keys are always set to the nearest frame. When
compressing a dense animation, this means keys will overlap on frame
boundaries. The alternative is to delete keys unless the overlapping key
distance is 0.0 (this would be consistent), but then your keys are gone and
scaling the fcurve back do not return to the former animation.

RESOLUTION
==========

To avoid this behavior, in the Dopesheet Setup dialog box, activate the "Do
not snap" option.
