SYMPTOMS
========

Whe you create an Automatic Payment in the Bill Calendar, and then send it to
your financial institution, Money may not mark the first scheduled bill as paid
in the Bill Calendar, and you may see the scheduled bill in the Overdue list on
the Money home page.

This occurs even though Money records the first scheduled instance of the payment
in the Account Register when the payment is due within 30 days.

When you download your second scheduled payment into your Account Register, Money
marks the previous payment as paid in the Bill Calendar. Your automatic payments
are made on schedule. However, the Bills Calendar and Overdue list in Money
remain behind by one payment.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if your financial institution is an Integrion (formerly
VISA InterActive) partner institution.

RESOLUTION
==========

To work around this issue, use Electronic Payments (Epays) instead of Automatic
Payments (Apays). To do this, follow these steps:

1. Cancel any existing Apays. For additional information about how to cancel an
   Apay, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   Q142768 Money: How to Cancel Apays, Epays and Send Bank Letter

2. In Bill Calendar, click the recurring payment, click Edit, in the Number box,
   click Epay, and then click Enter.

3. When Money reminds you that the payment is due, enter it into your Account
   Register from the Bills Calendar, and then send the instructions to your
   financial institution.

   For additional information about Epays, please see the following article in
   the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   Q148456 What is an Epay and How to Enter Epays

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Money 98.

MORE INFORMATION
================

Normally, the Home screen of Money, and the Bill Reminder remind you about
upcoming recurring transactions ten days in advance. To make sure that you have
enough time to send these payments, you may want to increase your reminder
settings. To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. Click the Bills tab.

3. Under Bill Reminders, type the number you want in the "Remind me
   <number> days in advance of a due bill" box.

   NOTE: Apays are scheduled 30 days in advance. If you want to follow a similar
   schedule for your Epays, type "30" (without the quotation marks) in the
   "Remind me <number> days in advance of a due bill" box, and then always
   send your Epays as soon as Money reminds you they are due.
