SYMPTOMS
========

You may experience the following symptoms when you play Microsoft Fighter Ace on
the Microsoft MSN Gaming Zone:

 - When you click Fly Now, you may receive the following error message:

   Unreliable connection. Please try again.

 - When you play a game you have already joined, you may receive the following
   error message:

   Connection to Server has been lost. Please try to reconnect.

 - You cannot see any airplanes when you join a game in an arena where many
   other players are flying.
 - You are unable to shoot down other airplanes, or you do not receive
   confirmation messages when you shoot down other airplanes.
 - Other airplanes jump from one location to another, or other players complain
   that your airplane jumps from one location to another.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if you have a slow or unreliable connection to the MSN
Gaming Zone.

RESOLUTION
==========

To determine the quality of your connection to MSN Gaming Zone, press ALT+T when
you play Fighter Ace to view the Network dials in Data View. The symptoms listed
earlier in this article are more likely to occur if one or more of the following
conditions are true:

 - The Network Latency dial is in the yellow or red area. This indicates slow
   data transmission over your Internet connection.
 - The Network Data Loss dial is in the yellow or red area. This indicates
   excessive data loss over your Internet connection.

If both the Network Data Loss and Network Latency dials are in the green area,
then there is no problem with your MSN Gaming Zone connection.

If the Network Latency dial in Data View is in the yellow or red area, use either
of the following methods to improve Network Latency:

Close Other Internet Programs
-----------------------------

Before you play Fighter Ace on MSN Gaming Zone, increase the bandwidth of your
network connection to MSN Gaming Zone. To do so, quit any programs that
frequently send and receive data over the Internet, such as chat or e-mail
programs.

Join a Smaller Game
-------------------

To increase the speed of your connection, reduce the amount of data that needs to
be transferred between players. To do so, join an arena with fewer players.
