SYMPTOMS
========

In Money 98 Standard edition, there is no button to change the credit
card limit or interest rate for your existing credit card accounts.
This information is entered when you create the credit card account.
Money displays this information at the bottom of the Account Register
and in Account Details.

CAUSE
=====

Money 98 Financial Suite has a Debt Info button which allows you to
change the credit card information which is used in the Planner,
a feature found in the Financial Suite. Money 98 Standard does not
have this feature, thus does not have a Debt Info button.

RESOLUTION
==========

If you have Money 98 Standard Edition there are two different ways you
can track the credit limit, minimum payment, and current interest rate.

Option 1
--------

You can enter this information in the Comments field on the Account
Details screen. If you decide to track the information this way, it
is recommended that you do not enter this information in the New Account
wizard when setting up the credit card account.

Option 2
--------

Option 2 is more detailed but it does change the credit limit shown in
both the Account Register and in the Account Details. Follow the steps
below to make the necessary changes:

1. Click Accounts on the navigation bar, to go to the Account Manager.
   If necessary click the Account Manager button.

2. Right-click the Credit Card account that you want to change the
   information for, then click Go To Details on the shortcut menu.

3. If the Credit Card account is setup for Online Services you will need
   to temporarily disable it.

   For information about how to disable Online Services in Money, please
   see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

4. In Account Details, click Modify, change the Account Type to Bank, and
   then click OK.

5. Back on the Details screen, there will be an untitled field under
   Opening Balance, type your new credit limit in this field.

6. Click Modify and change the Account Type back to Credit Card and click
   OK.

7. If you disabled the Credit Card account per step 3 above, you will
   want to re-enable your account now.
