SUMMARY
=======

This article offers a method that lets you save Rotation Fcurves as Local
rather than Global (the default).

(NOTE: Before you begin, please read the description on the different
rotation modes on page 1219 of the SOFTIMAGE 3D Reference Guide: I to Z
Appendices.)

For example, when you save a Rotation Fcurve for a model in ADD mode, the
Fcurve is Global (the default). The same is true for the other rotation
modes. To work around this, use the following method:

1. Load three Primitive Nulls into your scene (Null1, Null2, and Null3).

2. Make Null1 the Parent of Null2; Null2 the Parent of Null3; and Null3 the
   Parent of the scene model. You now have a branch that will act as the
   three Local axes for the scene model.

3. To rotate the scene model on the x-axis, select Null1 (at the top of the
   branch), and proceed to save keys for the scene model's rotation in the
   x-axis (Rotation -> X).

4. Repeat the operation to save keys for the other two rotation axes
   (Null2 = y-axis; Null3 = z-axis).

Irrespective of the rotation mode you select, this technique insures that
the target scene model's Fcurves are Local as opposed to Global.
