The information in this article applies to:

 - Softimage 3D for IRIX, versions 3.51, 3.7
 - Softimage 3D for Windows NT, versions 3.51, 3.7
---------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When you start multiple threads, each is allocated (e.g.: 512MB) to a
non-overlapping stack, causing them to run out of virtual memory.

CAUSE
=====

The "stacksize" is the same as the "memoryuse" size.

RESOLUTION
==========

Check your "limit" (regarding distributed rendering) and make sure the
"stacksize" does not equal the "memoryuse" size.

STATUS
======

This behavior is by design.
