SUMMARY
=======

When you try to select an edge (for merging) that is shared by two NURBS
surfaces, the same surface is always picked twice and causes an error
message. The following technique offsets the common edges, allowing you to
select the two surfaces and subsequently merge the two NURBS surfaces. For
the purpose of this example, the two surfaces are referred to as Surface A
and Surface B, and their common edge as Edge AB.

1. Select Surface B and translate (in OBJ mode) it away from Edge AB.

2. Choose Select -> Clear.

3. Choose Draw -> Merge Surfaces.

4. Pick Surface A near Edge AB and then Surface B near the edge offset from
   Edge AB.

5. From the NURBS Merge/Blend dialog box, select Join second to first, then
   click OK.

6. A blended surface is created that matches the original position of
   Surface A and Surface B.

7. Either delete Surface B, or return it to the original position by
   setting the Translation to 0,0,0.
