SYMPTOMS
========

An animated transparent object causes shadows on a reflective object that
it passes.

CAUSE
=====

Raytrace depth value is too low.

RESOLUTION
==========

Increase your raytrace depths (for reflection and refraction) in render
options (or just one trace depth for the Softimage renderer).

Reflection and refraction limit the number of surfaces a ray can reflect or
refract through. Setting them too high can slow down a render, especially
if you have multiple reflective objects reflecting each other (such as a
mirror facing a mirror effect).

STATUS
======

This behavior is by design.
