The information in this article applies to:

 - Softimage 3D for IRIX, version 3.7
 - Softimage 3D for Windows NT, version 3.7

SYMPTOMS
========

After compositing a Particle-rendered sequence with a SOFTIMAGE 3D-rendered
sequence, the resulting composited sequence shows the emitting Particles
offset from the SOFTIMAGE 3D objects used as Particle sources.

CAUSE
=====

After checking the pixel ratio of both layers at frame 1 (using 'infopic'),
the Particle layer had a pixel ratio of 0.9, while the SOFTIMAGE 3D layer's
pixel ratio was 1.0.

The offset was caused by compositing sequences with incompatible pixel
ratios.

RESOLUTION
==========

Before compositing a Particle sequence with a SOFTIMAGE 3D sequence, make
sure the pixel ratio is the same for both.

STATUS
======

This behavior is by design.
