SUMMARY
=======

This article explains how to restore your Money 5.0 backup file
using the Restore Backup command on the File menu.

MORE INFORMATION
================

There are two options for restoring backup files using the Restore Backup
command in Money 5.0. One option replaces the open Money file and
the other allows you to create a new Money file.

If you want to keep the current file name that Money is using,
see "Restoring a Backup File to Replace the Current File" below.

If you want to use a different file name from the one that's currently
open in Money, see "Restoring a Backup to a New File" below.

NOTE: The current file name opened in Money can be determined by
inspecting the title bar. For example, if "My Money - Microsoft
Money" is displayed, then the file name is "My Money".

Restoring a Backup File to Replace the Current File
-----------------------------------------------------

1. Start Money.

2. Click Restore Backup, on the File menu.

3. In the "Restore file from:" box, type the file name and location
   of the backup file you want to restore, or click the browse
   button to find it and then click OK.

NOTE: After you select the Browse button on the Restore Backup dialog,
the Files Of Type, has options for either Money files or All files;
there is no option for .bak files. Use the All Files option
to list files with a .bak extension.

4. Click Restore.

5. The Restore Warning dialog displays the file name and location
    of the backup file that will be restored and the currently
    opened file as a final confirmation. Please inspect this to
    make sure it is correct. If not, click Cancel and start
    again at step 2, otherwise click Replace Current.

6. If you've made any Electronic Payments (E-Pays) or downloaded
   transaction records since you last backed up the file,
   call the phone number listed on the Contact Information
   tab in the Home Banking area to make sure your records
   will remain up to date.

7. Enter any transactions or other information you've entered
   since you created the backup file.
