SYMPTOMS
========

When you double-click in a storyframe to edit your text all the text may
disappear from the storyframe and all its linked frames as well.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, delete the storyframes and recreate them. If the
text in the storyframe is saved in another file, copy the text and paste it
into the new storyframe. If the text is not saved in another document,
follow the steps below.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To save the text in a storyframe, do the following:

 1. Open the document exhibiting the problem.

 2. On the File menu click Save As and type a new name for the
    document.

 3. In the File Format list box, click Works 3.0 and then click Save.

 4. On the File menu, click Open and open the document you saved in step 2.
    The storyframes will be individual objects.

 5. Click the first object (or the first column of what was your
    storyframe) to select it, and on the Edit menu click Copy.

 6. Open a new draw document and Paste the object.

 7. Click the object to select it, and then click Ungroup on the Format
    menu. You may see several objects appear, each containing text from
    your linked storyframes.

 8. Double-click one of the objects to select it; the insertion point
    appears inside the object.

 9. Use the insertion point to highlight all the text.

10. Copy the text and paste it into a new Word Processing document.

11. Repeat steps 5 through 10 until the Word Processing document contains
    all the text from your linked storyframes.

12. Save the Word Processing document.

13. Close all other documents without saving them.

14. Re-open the document exhibiting the problem.

15. Delete all the storyframes in which text is disappearing.

16. Re-create storyframes and link them as appropriate.

17. Open the Word Processing document you saved in step 12 above and copy
    the text.

18. Paste the text into your newly created storyframes.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Works version 4.0
for the Macintosh. We are researching this problem and will post new
