the Macintosh and Works for Windows.

Transferring a File from Works for Windows to Works for the Macintosh
---------------------------------------------------------------------
 
To transfer a Word Processing file from Works for Windows to Works for the
Macintosh do the following:
 
1. Open the word processing document in Works for Windows.
 
2. On the File menu, click Save As.
 
3. Type a new name for the document.
 
4. From the Save As Type list box, choose either: Works WP or Works 4.0 For
   Macintosh WP.
 
5. Click Save.
 
6. Transfer the file to the Macintosh hard drive.
 
7. Open Works for the Macintosh.
 
8. At the Startup window click Existing Documents and then click OK.
 
9. At the Open Document window click the Word Processing icon.
 
10. In the File Format list box, click All Available.
 
11. Locate the file you saved in step 3 above and click Open.
 
As the document is converting, you may receive an alert box to open a text file,
click OK.
 
Transferring a file from Works for the Macintosh to Works for Windows
---------------------------------------------------------------------
 
To transfer a word processing file from Works for the Macintosh version 4.0 to
Works for Windows do the following:
 
1. Open the document in Works for the Macintosh.
 
2. On the File menu, click Save As.
 
3. Type a new name for the document.
 
4. From the File Format drop down list, choose either Normal, or Text.
 
5. Click Save.
 
6. Transfer the file to a MS-DOS formatted disk.
 
7. Open Works for Windows.
 
8. Click the Existing Documents tab.
 
9. Click Open A Document Not Listed Here.
 
10. From the Files Of Type list box, click All Files (*.*).
 
11. Locate and open the file you saved in step 3 above.
 
NOTE: When transferring word processing files between Works for Windows and Works
for the Macintosh, the following will occur:
 
 - You may need to reformat your document.
 
 - All graphics will be lost in the conversion.
 
 - Inserted objects may not convert or lose their links.
