SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you start one of the programs listed at the top of this article,
you receive the following error message:
 
   This machine is not properly configured to play video clips. This
   problem must be fixed before you can run <program name>. Please see
   the Readme file on the <program name> CD for more information.
 
When you click OK, the program closes.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This problem may be caused by a missing or invalid avivideo= entry in
the [mci] section of the System.ini file.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Make sure an [mci] section exists in the System.ini file. Then, make
sure this section contains the following entry:
 
   avivideo=mciavi.drv
 
If the above entry does not exist or is incorrect, make the necessary
changes using a text editor such as Microsoft Notepad.
