Ok, this is my list... -install NT 4.0 ... make sure the C drive is NTFS!!!! -installing with all the options (games etc.....) -Install the NT 4.0 SDK, custom install unchecking the debug dll's (I suppose you could uncheck the majority of the crap on the SDK cd..) From the Visual C++ 2.0 (2.1 or 2.2) CD copy copy d:\msvc20\bin\link.exe c:\mstools\bin\link32.exe copy d:\msvc20\bin\link.err c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\dbi.dll c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\nmake.exe c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\nmake.err c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\lib.exe c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\lib.exe c:\mstools\bin\lib32.exe copy d:\msvc20\bin\link.exe c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\bin\link.err c:\mstools\bin\ copy d:\msvc20\lib\oldnames.lib c:\mstools\lib From the Windows NT 3.1 SDK Executables (from the mstools\bin\i386 directory) cl.err cl.exe cl32.msg cl386.exe c1.err c13232.exe c1xx3232.exe c23.err c23232.exe Includes Next rename the c:\mstools\include directory to c:\mstools\include4 then copy the mstools\h directory of the SDK 3.1 into c:\mstools\include Library files libc.lib The psxarc should now build & run... (mine did)... Next copy the c:\mstools\posix\h directory to c:\mstools\posix\include Then for the resource kit xcopy the directory d:\source\gnu\posix to c:\mstools\posix Run the longname.bat I think from there the nmake will run building everything it can.... then I made a c:\posix directory and ran the pposix batch file to populate the c:\posix directory... I save this as a batch file in the c:\posix directory to kick off the posix 'environment... set TERM=ansi set TERMCAP=//C/posix/termcap set _POSIX_TERM=on set tmp=//C/temp set PATH=c:\posix;%PATH% sh After running this I had to make a lowercase c:\temp directory... as the NTFS is now case sensitive!!!... but vi runs etc ...
