1. Purpose and usage
===========================================================================

Hotfix Control is a maintenance tool for Windows NT users who want to keep
track of what hotfixes are applied, and when they were applied. This
information is found in the registry, and Hotfix Control gathers it along
with the filenames which are affected into a list. You can also uninstall
any hotfix and open the Microsoft Knowledge Base article that is primarily
associated with a hotfix.

The application does not contain many menu commands and should be self-
explanatory in all aspects. It does not save anything in the registry or
elsewhere, so uninstalling it just requires to delete the program file
and any documentation that came with it.

2. Known issues
===========================================================================

It seems like there is a maximum length of columns i list views, I suspect
it's around 255 characters. The comma-delimited list of affected files will
be truncated if there are to many files. This happens with the euro-fix. I
have no work-around for this except making a Details dialog for each hotfix
with a more extensive file list, containing version information etc. Such a
dialog could also contain version information etcetera, and I will probably
include it a later release.

3. System requirements
===========================================================================

To run Hotfix Control, you need Windows NT 4.0. It may work under NT 3.51
too, but I haven't had the opportunity to test it in that enviroment. If
you do, please tell me how it worked out. The application will start under
Windows 95/98, but as those operating systems do not have hotfixes the
point is lost and an error message will be displayed upon startup.
