	ssmssocn.dll	Server-side Windows NT TCP/IP Sockets Net-Library
	msvcrt20.dll	The "C" runtime .dll
fixlist.txt	The fixlist for Service Pack 4

Use the following steps to install this service pack. These procedures

you installed into another directory, adjust the path names to point
to the proper place.

1) Unzip the service pack files in a temporary directory

2) Shutdown SQL Server if it is currently running.

3) Backup your master database.

     EX: cd \sql\data
           copy master.dat master.sav

4) Backup your existing c:\sql\binn\sqlservr.exe

     EX: cd \sql\binn
           ren sqlservr.exe sqlservr.21a

5) Backup your existing .DLL files that will be replaced

     EX: cd \sql\dll
           ren opendsnt.dll opendsnt.21a
           ren dbmssocn.dll dbmssocn.21a
           ren ssmssocn.dll ssmssocn.21a
           cd \winnt35\system32
           ren msvcrt20.dll msvcrt20.old

6) Replace your existing files with the new ones:

     EX: cd \temp
           copy sqlservr.exe c:\sql\binn\sqlservr.exe
           copy opendsnt.dll c:\sql\dll\opendsnt.dll
           copy dbmssocn.dll c:\sql\dll\dbmssocn.dll
           copy ssmssocn.dll c:\sql\dll\ssmssocn.dll
           copy msvcrt20.dll c:\winnt35\system32\msvcrt20.dll

7) Restart SQL Server.

8) You can correct version is loaded by checking the SQL Server
errorlog in c:\sql\log\errorlog. The version string should
   be "4.21a.05".

9) If necessary, you can simply copy back in the 4.21a
files to replace the 4.21a SP4 version.
