Intro:
---------------
What's New From Version 5.5?
-Major file cleanup
-Some other stuff I can't remember

So, you always wanted a Mac. Well, we have news for you,
Windoze 95 can look even more like a Mac. We have created the Macintosh
Theme for Windoze 95. This can only be used if you have Micro$oft Plus
installed on your system. If you don't have Plus! you can go to the web
site to get the appropriate files.

Theme features include:
-Macintosh busy clock, pointer, trash icons, hard & floppy icons.
-All Mac sounds, including ROM startup (hummmm...) sound.
-Mac desktop background.
-Mac fonts.
-Mac startup and shutdown screens.

Instructions
---------------
Unzip in C:\ with -d option on pkunzip.
This will create a directory (C:\mac95) and install some
fonts and startup screens in your C:\windows directory.
If you are asked, overwrite any files.

Part 1: General theme

1. Go into C:\mac95 and double click the install.reg file and restart.

2. Open 'my computer' Now arrange your desktop like a Mac:
________________________________________________________

      				Hard Drive

				Floppy Drive

				CD-ROM

					Trash
---------------------------------------------------------

3. This is kinda annoying so I don't use it, but you have the option to hide
the taskbar. What it does is sink to the bottom of the screen when your not
using it then you just move the mouse to the bottom of the screen and the bar
comes up. You can find this feature in "Start", Settings, Taskbar, autohide.

Well, we hope you like the theme, we worked hard on it.
Consider this a tribute to a OS which could and should have been the home OS
standard. Keep you fingers crossed for Apple, Steve & Next :)
Take care and Long Live The Mac!!!

*By the way, Ritchie Chow has made a great utility that is basically the Mac taskbar that's
called WinMac. It's great...instead of having just the background "File Edit View Label Special",
you can actually have A WORKING VERSION OF IT. You can get it from my web site.
-Be sure to use the special "memory saving background" listed under "Notes:" below.

Notes
---------------
1. Startup and shutdown screens are still somewhat pixelated & distorted because of the
win95 resizing effect. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable [may change in near future!].

2. We only have access to a American version of the MacOS and Win95 operating system
therefore we cannot support foreign OS's. Specifically, the U.S. fonts may not work on
foreign systems...sorry we wish we could do something about this. Visit the web site
for info on how to help us if you can.

3. Because the desktop background has to be bitmap file it is basically a graphic/video
memory hog. So if things are a bit to slow with this background you can choose an
alternative background that hardly uses any memory but doesn't have the
"File Edit View Label Special" at the top. To use it just go to control panel, display,
background, browse under wallpaper to the mactile.bmp file (in Mac directory) and choose
"tile".

4. Some characters like 1/2 did not translate from Mac to PC font-wise so you may
occasionally see funny symbols for some characters.

5. What's next? We are working on a patch/hack to the window manager to make
the windows look like a Macintosh. If you can help with that, then e-mail
us at: mac95@usa.net
