corevxdump.c has a new target code for gdb that allows a flat memory
dump of a vxworks system to be used as core dump that can be examined
using gdb.

what i usually do is copying entire memory area in my vxworks target
over NFS or FTP to the host system. my target is a custom m68360 board
that has 4 mega bytes of memory. i copy all 4 meg to the host into a single
file. the file contains byte-for-byte image of the ram.

i've included the Makefile i use to build the gdb (based on gdb-4.15.1
distribution). i configured gdb-4.15.1 using the following:

./configure --host=sparc-sun-sunos4 --target=m68k-vxdump-aout

you can then copy over this Makefile and corevxdump.c to the gdb source
directory and make the gdb.

some useful gdb commands:

        from the shell:
		gdb vxworks.st // vxworks.st contains symbols

        from the gdb prompt:
target vxdump dumpfile // dumpfile is flat memory dump
info threads // lists out all vxworks tasks
thread 1 // pick	the first task
		bt // backtrace this task
up // go up a frame
		etc...
