| Note: If your cluster has more than four nodes or more than four resource groups, the resource group topology is not displayed as an option on the View menu. |
See the Resource Group Properties table for a complete description of each resource group property.
When you complete this task, SunPlex Manager also automatically manages the resource group. You need to enable the resources in the resource group.
Bring a resource group online to allow resources to begin providing failover or scalable services.
Switch primaries for the following reasons:
To bring a resource group online or switch primaries, complete the following steps:
The Resource Groups window appears.
A task window appears. This window prompts you to provide additional information.
If the resource group is Failover,
choose one new primary.
If the resource group is Scalable,
you can choose more than one new primary.
SunPlex Manager displays a confirmation message, including the command that is used to complete the task. Write down or copy this command for future use in scripts and other automated tasks.

Note: If the application that the resource is controlling fails to stop,
SunPlex Manager places a

flag on the associated resource and resource group.
You need to manually check the resource application to see if the application is running, stop the application on the node on which the application is running, and clear the STOP_FAILED flag. |

To restart a resource group, complete the following steps:
The Resource Groups window appears.
If the resource group is offline, to bring the resource group online, choose Bring Online/Switch Primaries from the Action Menu. SunPlex Manager cannot restart a resource group that is offline.

The two resource group types are failover and scalable. A failover resource group can be online on only one node at any time. A scalable resource group can be online on multiple nodes simultaneously.
To create a resource group, complete the following steps:
