OvationPro and RISC OS 4 Problems
---------------------------------

(1) Transloaders

Symptom: When loading pictures or RTF, text or Impression DDF files there is
a crash. Although OvationPro continues to be on the icon bar.

Solution: The problem is the Transloaders supplied with OvationPro illegally
accesing page zero. You have to find all your transloaders and replace the
!Server file inside them with the new one available from the OvationPro web
site File Library page.

(2) Impulse

Symptom: Attempting to use the Impulse protocol to do a mail merge e.g. from
the Impact database results in a crash of OvationPro.

Solution: The Impulse applet has a bug in it. Get version 1.02 from the
OvationPro web site Applets page.

(3) Script language crashes

Symptom: When compiling script language code which should produce an error,
OvationPro crashes with a "trap in trap handler" error.

Note this fits quite a wide range of situations, it might be an applet with
an error in a script file loaded during program startup, it might be a
typing mistake in a macro definition and that macro will only be compiled
when you press a key or click on the button bar.

Solution: The RISC OS 4 DDEUtils module 1.59 has a bug in it. It will cause
this crash if there is no 'throwback' handler registered. So one workaround
is to have a throwback handler present - i.e. have something like the Zap
editor running and set up for throwback. Another alternative is to *unplug
the DDEUtils module, on older versions of RISC OS it was not loaded by
default. Yet another alternative would be to load the DDEUtils module from
an older version of RISC OS. A fixed DDEUtils module is available from
RISC OS Ltd. as part of a collection of patches for RISC OS 4.

(4) Missing ticks

Symptom: A Euro symbol appears to the left of loaded dictionaries in the
Load/edit/create dictionaries window.

Solution: Upgrade to OvationPro 2.55.

(5) Drawing frames or lines.

Symptom: When using the frame/line drawing tool with straight or curved
segments, it is not possible to complete drawing by a double click

Solution: Upgrade to OvationPro 2.57.
