HostClock software podule for VirtualRPC
----------------------------------------

The VirtualAcorn upgrade that you have installed contains a new
software podule designed to prevent the RISC OS clock changing
year suddenly.

Although the podule is now installed it is not yet activated.
In order to activate it you will need to make some changes to your
VirtualAcorn configuration files as follows:

1. Print out a copy of these instructions.
2. Shut down your copy of VirtualRPC.
3. Using Windows Explorer navigate to your VirtualRPC install folder.
    This will normally be:

    C:\Program Files\VirtualAcorn\VirtualRPC-xxx

    Where xxx refers to your particular type of VirtualRPC.
4. Right click on the Models folder and click on "Copy" from the menu
5. Click in the same Explorer window and click on "Paste"
6. A new folder will appear called "Copy of Models".
7. Now open the original "Models" folder
8. Inside you will find some model folders. There should typically
    be one model folder for a standard VirtualRPC and three for a
    StrongARM VirtualRPC.
9. You need to make the following change to each model folder:

   a. Open the Model sub folder (e.g. Arm7 RISC OS 4)
   b. Double click on the particular Model.cfg file
   c. It should open into Windows Notepad.
   d. If it doesn't choose to open it using a program
      chosen from a list, then choose Notepad.
   e. You will see a human readable configuration file
   f. Find the section headed [HostServices]
   g. Add an extra carriage return under the [HostServices]
      section
   h. Add a [HostClock] entry two lines below the [HostServices]
      entry in the model file.
   i. Make sure you have a carriage return after the new
      [HostClock] entry. For example:

            [HostServices]
            podule =2
            Idle = 7
            BatteryLowPercent = 25
            BatteryCriticalPercent = 10

            [HostClock]

            [CDDrive]

            or

            [HostServices]
            podule =2
            Idle = 7
            BatteryLowPercent = 25
            BatteryCriticalPercent = 10

            [HostClock]

            [CallWin32Podule]

    j. The actual wording of your particular model file may be
       slightly different depending on the type of VirtualRPC you have.
    k. Save your new amended Model file

10. Now make the same change for each Model file you have.
11. Now re-start VirtualRPC.
12. If you have any problems then simply replace the "Models" folder
    with the copy you took in steps 4 to 6.

Congratulations, you have now installed the HostClock upgrade.
