AcornICQ
The ICQ Client for Acorn Computers
Setting Preferences

This is the preferences box, used to set various bits to do with how your ICQ will work. There are four sections to the box.
- ICQ Server
The server that you will log into. This consists of a server name and domain and a port number. Normally you should leave the port number set to 4000 (the fact that you can change it is mostly to do with intranet implementation and so on), but if you have problems getting into the server selected, try using another server by selecting from the list that is shown when you select the arrow.
- User login status
All this does is set what status you wish to start as when you log in, from Online, Occupied, Do not Disturb and so on.
- Contact
This bit determines how your main box will show up initially, from the screen position (X and Y) to the amount of information to be shown (either All or Online) and whether a message will automatically popup.
- The other box
These are the niceties that do not fit in the other boxes.
- Log file - Create a log file of the actions taken by the program.
- Auto connect - Allows the program to automatically connect when run. this would only be useful if you run when connected to the net, of course!
- Sound - Toggle the sound effects that accompany ICQ
- Auto-response - When you are set to Don't Disturb, Occupied and so forth, this option allows the program to send a message automatically rather than requesting one from you.
You may then save or use now, Use Now would allow the settings to be used in the current session, where Save would wait until the next run. Note that some of these features have yet to be implemented.
