The main display here doubles as an indicator of what each person is doing and a directory of who you can send a message to. To send a message, you first need to have connected (of course), but then you only need to double-click on a name. Alternatively, you could menu-click a name and select the Message option from the menu that comes up, shown here.

What you get is a message box. Simply type into the main section what you want to send and select Send to send it. You should remember that if the person is offline that you will not get a reply immediately, but the ICQ server will save it until they come on next. You can also send a message in reply to a message sent to you by selecting the reply button. |

| You have the option of sending a URL (a web page address) instead. Say, for example, you have found something interesting in your neverending quest for cool sites and you want to share it with someone. Instead of selecting a message box, you call up the menu (as shown above) and call up "Web page address" to get this box. You put the URL into the URL field, and any notes into the box below it. |
