So what is ICQ anyway?

ICQ (literally I Seek You, you may groan now!) is a way of communicating messages, web links (URL's) and files across the Internet. It differs from similar technologies such as IRC in that the client does not have to follow channels. It lets you find your friends in real time and create a contact list from them and allows you to communicate online without the problem of searching for servers and such.

This is AcornICQ, which is a version meant specifically for Acorn Computers. If you wish to learn more about ICQ, you should see the ICQ Starter Guide.

How do I install it?

First you will need to unpack it from its archive, which you can do with !Sparkplug or !SparkFS.

All you do is run it. If you are a Voyager user and wish to include it as a VIX, then a suitable VIX module is provided (download mICQ/AcornICQ VIX) into which you may place the main program.
