Connecting to the server

This screen shows up when you have started ICQ, and of course it will start "Off line" since it is safe to expect that you will probably not be online immediately. The red flower in the corner is the important item to use here. Give is an Adjust click and see what happens!

If it just turned green, then you just signed on! You can have better control, however, if you Select click on it instead. If you do that, then this will be the result:

A tick will appear next to your choice, though when you are disconnected, only the "Connect" option will be available in the lower section of the box, and the "Offline" option will be ticked with the rest greyed out.

You may have noticed that the little "flower" symbols actually mean something. The status menu above shows each of these flowers and what each one means. Apart from "Offline", the flowers all mean that the contact is online.

The status of each contact is shown by a specific flower and is known by a name as shown. They do the following:
