Config help file
================

Introduction
------------
Config is a simple universal configuration utility that
can be used to create and maintain configuration files for
your programs. Most of our own software supports the Config
protocol and will call !Config whenever the option Choices...
is selected from the iconbar menu of the application.

Installation
------------
!Config must be 'seen' by the filer before the calling
application is started. It is therefore best placed inside
the '!Boot.Resources' directory on your harddisc.

CLients
-------
An application that uses !Config's facilities to create
and edit its configurations files, is called a client.
The name of the client is always shown in the title of
the main Config-window and many clients may use !Config
simultaneously.

Changing !Config's own configuration
------------------------------------
!Config is an application in its own and is therefore a
perfect example of Config-client. Open the program-menu
(middle mouse button over the main Config-window) en
slide off to 'Info'. Next click on the Toggle-icon in the
top right corner of the window. A button 'Choices...' will
now be revealed. Clicking this button will allow you to
change the overall Config settings.

Protocol
--------
If you want to include support for !Config in your own
applications, a minimum of work has to be done. A full
description for programmers including a number of software
examples will be made available shortly through our website.

Updates
-------
The latest version of !Config is always available from:

Copyright
---------
!Config is copyright of X-Ample Technology bv of The Netherlands.
It may be distributed free of charge, provided that the full
application is supplied (including this file) and no alterations
are made. If !Config is supplied with a commercial package,
an evaluation copy of that package would be appreciated.
