Installation notes for Phindows Client access to TMS
----------------------------------------------------

February 14, 1998
Revised: June 11, 1998

Insert Phindows disk in drive A.

Open DOS Window.

Type: A: <enter>

Type: install <enter>

The \usr and \usr\photon directories will be created on drive C:.

The Phindows files will be copied to c:\usr\photon.

After the copy is complete, close the Dos Window.

Using Windows Explorer, go to \usr\photon directory. Using the mouse,
right click on the phindows.exe icon and drag it to your desktop.
Select to create a shortcut.

After the shortcut is created, click on the text of the Phindows Icon
and change the text to "TMS Client" or another suitable name.

Right click on the Phindows icon and select Properties.

Change the "Target:" to
       "C:\usr\photon\phindows.exe -tIPADDRESS -smenu -Utms5

Substitute your TMS machines IP address for "IPADDRESS". The physical
IP address is normally used, such as 192.10.2.50.

Change the "Start in" directory to "c:\usr\photon".

Change the run mode to Maximized.

You should be ready to access TMS from the Client PC.

For Serial Connection to TMS:

In general, follow the instruction above with these few exceptions.

Change the "Target:" for the startup icon to
       "C:\usr\photon\phindows.exe -mcom1 -b38400-smenu -Utms5

Substitute your serial port for 'com1' in the example.

On the TMS machine, the serial port for the connection must be established with
the correct baud rate. For this example, 'ser1' has been selected for the
serial port to be used.

Add the following commands to the sysinit file. Please contact Toptech Systems,
Inc. Technical Support for assistance with this.

stty baud=38400 < /dev/ser1
tinit -c /usr/photon/bin/phrelay -T /dev/ser1 &

Please note that when the Phindows session is started on the Windows machine,
the user will need to press the space bar (or any other character) to start
the QNX side (phrelay).

Licensing:

When you are asked to license the program, you will need to type the license
number from the installation disk EXACTLY as it appears, include the 'phin.'
part of the license number.

A typical license number is: "phin.00116569-22k5-14v5-7h54-f55j-98j3"

After pressing enter, the program will start.
