Course requirements and duration

Basic
------
Prerequisites 
The course assumes the following prerequisites: 

     a good working knowledge of UNIX from both a user's and administrator's perspective; 
     an understanding of TCP/IP networks; 
     an understanding of Web servers, particularly Apache or Netscape; 
     a good working knowledge of Web browsers, particularly Netscape or Internet Explorer;
     a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows. 

Course duration 
The course should be run over a two day period. 

Advanced
--------
The course assumes the following prerequisites: 

     the Tarantella Basics course; 
     a good working knowledge of UNIX from both a user's and administrator's perspective; 
     an understanding of TCP/IP networks; 
     an understanding of Web servers, particularly Apache or Netscape; 
     a good working knowledge of Web browsers, particularly Netscape or Internet Explorer;
     a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows; 
     an understanding of internet security; 
     if possible, a very basic understanding of the concept of mainframes; 
     a good working knowledge of HTML; 
     a good working knowledge of JavaScript; 
     a good working knowledge of UNIX shell scripting; 
     a good working knowledge of Expect/TCL scripting; 
     a good working knowledge of CGI. 

Course duration 
The course should be run over a two/three day period.
