Host Computer Configuration Suggestions

This page discusses various configuration suggestions for your host computers that affect the way the ViewStation operates in your environment.

Correct operation for the ViewStation often requires availability of some host services, such as file transfer protocols for font loading, XDMCP operation, Domain Name Service, etc. Although the ViewStation's requirements are not special (there is no requirement for installation of special software on the host, only loading the HDSware files), many operations of the X terminal will fail if there are problems with the host configuration.

These suggestions for your host system configuration are just suggestions. Consult with your system administrator for details about your host configuration and procedures implemented in your environment.
