Audio File Recording program - hdsrecord
The hdsrecord program records an audio file from the ViewStation's
audio input and stores it in a file on a host computer. Various
recording options and character istics can be selected from the command
line. These are described in the

You should run hdsrecord from a host computer with a remote
shell command to the ViewStation. You can stop the recording either by
specifying a time limit (with the -t option on the command line) or by
pressing Ctrl-C.
Some examples of recording sound files from the ViewStation
are: rsh <VS name> hdsrecord > audiofile.au
rsh
<VS name> hdsrecord -s 44100 -p 16 -e linear -c 2 > cdquality.au
