This page describes the hdsmkdir font utility
program.
hdsmkdir Font Utility Program
Creating a fonts.dir file with hdsmkdir is also a simple
operation. It works like the mkfontdir command, but it works on any
machine architecture and accepts more than one directory name.
Just
enter the command with the directory for which you want to create the
fonts.dir file:hdsmkdir <directory name>
