Booting the ViewStation from an External Hard Disk Drive

This page describes booting one ViewStation from another which has a hard disk drive installed.

For External Booting and File Service
Other ViewStations can use the HDSware installed on another ViewStation with a hard disk installed by specifying the HDSware location as the disk-equipped ViewStation's IP address as the HDSware host and /dev/flash as the HDSware directory. This permits booting, client loading, font loading, etc. to run from a ViewStation instead of a host computer.

These external ViewStations should use a normal configuration file, /HDSware/hds-fx/config/config.fx, not the config.fx.dsk file.
