HDS Audio Local Client Manual Page
NAME
hdsaudio - HDS ViewStation Audio Control Panel
SYNOPSIS
hdsaudio [ -d dev ] [ -Xt/Motif options ]
DESCRIPTION
The hdsaudio downloadable Motif client runs locally on the HDS
ViewStation. It provides a control panel which allows the user to
easily set and monitor various audio settings.
These settings include:
Playback Volume
Playback Stereo
Balance
Record Gain
Record Stereo Balance
Input
Monitoring Volume
Audio Out Device Type
Audio In Device Type
The client also displays useful
statistics about current audio activity (sample counts, sampling rates,
etc).
Changes made with hdsaudio stay effective even after the
client is exited. If a display argument is used, the controls can appear
on a remote X Window display but the audio device affected is the one
on the ViewStation executing hdsaudio.
This client can be used
with or without the HDS NetAudio server, auhds. This client can only be
used on ViewStations equipped with the optional HDS MultiMedia Audio
Card.
OPTIONS
The hdsaudio client accepts all of the standard X Toolkit
command line options as well as the following:
-d dev
Specify an alternate audio device to which output should be
directed. If the -d option is not specified, /dev/audio is the default
audio device.
WIDGETS
In order to specify resources, it is useful to know the hierarchy
of the widgets which compose HDS Audio. In the notation below,
indentation indicates hierarchical structure. The widget class name is
given first, followed by the widget instance name.
