This page describes the ViewStation's Auhds Audio client.
HDSperx
NetAudio compatible server - auhds
The NetAudio server has a number of functions and features.
Some of these NetAudio clients are available with HDSware in the
./hds-fx/contrib/netaudio directory.
The downloadable NetAudio server, called auhds, is not started
automatically. If you intend to use the NetAudio protocol to access the
ViewStation's audio capabilities, you must first start the auhds Audio
Server task.
If you intend to use the NetAudio server
regularly, you should consider starting it automatically with a command
in the ViewStation's Startup Command file:
auhds &
(The client configuration database automatically adds the
`-aa' option, by default. Refer to the ./hds-fx/config/clients.config
file.)
As an alternative, the audio server can be started via Remote
Shell with: rsh -n <ViewStation name> "auhds &"
As with other ViewStation messages, any error messages
can be examined with the HDS Console log and logpg commands. The HDS
NetAudio server execut able is called /HDSware/hds-fx/bin/auhds on the
HDSware distribution.
The HDS NetAudio server executable is
called ./hds-fx/bin/auhds on the HDSware distribution.
