ViewStation Memory

This page describes the ViewStation's memory.

The ViewStation main circuit board contains memory of up to 132 MB of DRAM memory, depending on the density of the memory modules. The memory consists of DRAM sockets which accept 0, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64 MB SIMM modules (some boards also have 4 MB of memory on the main board). Various combinations of these values are available. Optional flashPROM memory and other storage devices for the server code is available. The board also contains a Non Volatile Memory chip.

The ViewStation with the FXA/B/C/D circuit boards can accept SIMM modules in any mixture. The ViewStation Ultra must use SIMM modules as identical pairs of SIMMs.

ViewStation memory uses standard 32-bit wide SIMM modules with speeds 70 ns or faster. The 72-pin SIMMs should have tin-lead contacts. These can be ordered from HDS or obtained from other market sources.
