About Personal Session Configurations
Use the Personal Session Configuration window to view, modify, or create
an environment in which NeTraverse Win4Lin Terminal Server Windows session will run.
Two default environment configurations come with NeTraverse Win4Lin Terminal Server:
- A configuration named dos is the default environment for running
DOS sessions.
- A configuration named win is the default environment for running
Windows sessions.
NeTraverse Win4Lin Terminal Server is fully configurable, so you can create other personal
configurations that define the DOS and Windows session environments according
to your specifications.
Each configuration is saved under a unique name.
Configuration Views
The Personal Session Configuration window has four views, which can
be displayed by clicking on one of the four buttons across the top
of the window.
The four views are:
- Options
- Use this view to display or select:
- autoexec and config files
- Standard and EMS memory usage
- A command to execute when the session is started
- Drives & Filesystem
- Use this view to display or select whether the following file
systems are available to your NeTraverse Win4Lin Terminal Server session:
- Parts of the Linux file system
- Physical or virtual DOS volumes
- CD-ROM drives
- Devices
- Use this view to display or select devices to be made
accessible to your NeTraverse Win4Lin Terminal Server session, such as a parallel port.
- Display
- Use this view to display or select:
- DOS font, graphic scaling, and display type
- Shared or private color map
- Autofreeze option
- Cut and paste option for operations between Windows and X applications
- Key combinations used for the
Show Menu key
Window Controls
The following controls are common to all views of the
Personal Session Configuration window.
Use the appropriate control when you are finished viewing, changing,
or creating a configuration.
- Save
- Saves the configuration specifications under the current name,
and closes the Personal Session Configuration window.
- Save As
- Saves the configuration specifications under a new name.
A popup window appears in which you can enter the configuration name.
- Start
- Starts a DOS or Windows session with the specified configuration,
and closes the Personal Session Configuration window.
- Cancel
- Cancels the configuration specifications you have entered, if any,
and closes the Personal Session Configuration window.
