The FqdnKeys interface specifies prefix and suffix constant strings which are used in the auto generating of FQDNs.

The system has the ability to auto-generate hostname and domain name values for devices. Hostname values are based on the MAC address of the particular device and can be prefixed or suffixed with fixed values by setting the FqdnKeys.AUTO_FQDN_PREFIX and FqdnKeys.AUTO_FQDN_SUFFIX properties anywhere in the system property heirarchy for the device. Similarly, the fixed auto-generated domain name is specified in the FqdnKeys.AUTO_FQDN_DOMAIN value anywhere in the system property heirarchy for the device.

FQDN auto-generation can be enabled on a per DeviceType basis. If the device type is a custom device type and there is not a pre-defined constant for enabling auto-generation for that device type, the property name would be: /<device type name>/fqdn/enable

For example, if there was a device type with the name "foo", the property would be: /foo/fqdn/enable

If FQDN auto-generation is enabled for a device type, and a new device is added for that device type or if an existing device is modified by changing its host name and/or domain name (both could be set to null) - the FQDN auto-generation method will auto-generate the appropriate value for the parameter(s) specified as null.
