	README.

This is a short instruction on how to compile the sources.

Requirements:

1) C Compiler
2) GNU GCC Compiler (optional) - from Skunkware CD.
3) HDK.
4) SDK Package creation tools may be needed to create the package.

Either standard C compiler or GNU gcc can be used. This package contains driver
built with GCC compiler.

To make a driver binary, issue a command

./mk

It will call make with the appropriate makefile.

pnt.mk is the Makefile for UnixWare 7.0. It references some include files in the
HDK distribution. The copy of uts.rulefile is included here in case you don't
have HDK installed.

pnt_bsd.mk is for development on BSD-based systems( FreeBSD) - most likely you
do not need this.

Some notes:

You may compile driver with both standard cc and with optional gcc compiler. You
need nothing special to compile it with cc. I beleive that gcc may provide
better driver code in this particular case. To use gcc you should install it
from the skunkware disk and you also need to perform a small patch to one of the
standard include files. The file is /usr/include/sys/listasm.h. Close to the
beginning it has the lines:

#ifdef _KERNEL

#if defined(lint) || defined(__cplusplus)
extern void remque(void *e);

It should be replaced with

#ifdef _KERNEL

#if defined(lint) || defined(__cplusplus) || defined(__GNUC__)
extern void remque(void *e);
