                    COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS
                    ========================

This document list all the additional command line parameters used by the Fast
EtherChannel drivers (CPCNTNW.LAN) for follow AMD Adapters:

AMD PCnet-FAST (Am79C971) Ethernet Adapters,
AMD PCnet-FAST+ (Am79C972) Ethernet Adapters,
AMD PCnet-FAST III (Am79C973) Ethernet Adapters,
AMD PCnet-FAST III (Am79C975) Ethernet Adapters.

   parameter: CONFIGMODE

   type:      numeric, custom, optional

   Values:    CONFIGMODE=1
              the adapter is being loaded in normal mode

              CONFIGMODE=2
              the adapter being loaded is a member of an AGP2 configuration

              CONFIGMODE=4
              the adapter being loaded is a member of an AGP4 configuration

   Desc: This is used to indicate the mode in which the
              adapter will be configured.

   parameter: POSITION

   type:      numeric, custom, optional

   value: This parameter is used only when AGP2 or AGP4 configurations
              are chosen, ie CONFIGMODE=2 or 4. Otherwise it is ignored.

              Valid values of POSITION in AGP2 are 0 & 1, where 0 represents
              the primary adapter in the group and 1 represents the
              secondary adapter in the group.

              Valid values of POSITION in AGP4 are 0,1,2 & 3 where 0
              represents the primary adapter in the group and 1,2 & 3
              represents the secondary adapters in the group.

   Desc: This is used to determine the primary and secondary
              adapter(s) in multi-adapter configurations. The NetWare O/S
              is configured to use only primary adapters for network
              connectivity. Secondary adapters are used transparently by the
              driver for link aggregation and failover.

              The position parameters are also used for creating partial
              groups. For example in a system installed with 6 adapters, the
              user could specify the following configurations.

                  a) an AGP4 group with 4 adapters +
                     an AGP2 group with 2 adapters

                  b) an AGP4 group with 3 adapters +
                     an AGP4 group with 3 adapters

   parameter: SECONDARY

   type:      numeric, custom, optional

   value: This parameter is used only when the adapter is loaded in
              normal mode, ie - CONFIGMODE=1. Otherwise it is ignored.

   Desc: This is used to determine the slot number for the secondary
              backup adapter for the PermaNet feature. If this parameter is
              present, the driver is enabled with PermaNet feature..
