
Notes for fort2pl1.mfarc

Archive file fort2pl1.mfarc, containing a Fortran-to-PL/1 source
converter utility program, can be applied to the MUSIC/SP Demo
system.  It was written by Lance Leach at Stanford University, 1967.
The PL/1 source produced is compatible with PL/1 (F).

Note: The file names in this package use the digit "1", not the
      letter "I", in "pl1".

Prerequisites:

      (1) MUSIC/SP 6.2 (or later) Demo system.

  or  (2) MUSIC/SP 6.1 Demo system with updates misc5.arc and
          pl1fbas.arc applied.

Free space needed in the Save Library (not counting the .mfarc file
itself):  about 300 K.

Preparation before restoring the .mfarc file:

      Create the directory $000:fort2pl1.nonibm by the command:

      md \$000:\fort2pl1.nonibm

For a list of the file names contained in the archive, see file
fort2pl1_nams.txt in the same location as the .mfarc file.

Other notes:

- After restoring the files, you may wish to move some of the files
  to the root directory of $000 or some other userid.  If not, the
  directory prefix on some file names in /FILE statements and
  /INC statements may need to be adjusted.  For example, this
  applies to the utility's executor file fort2pl1.
