--------------
A QUICK HOW TO
--------------

The translation of XnViewMP is an easy job. Let's step into it :

INSTALLATION:
-------------

On Windows : On some configuration, you will need to run the VC80_CRT_x86.msi
to be able to use qtlinguist. Just double click on it to install it.

On Mac : normally, unzipping the package is enough, you'll have access to the
  tool in the mac folder.

TRANSLATING XnViewMP:
---------------------------------

Launch the linguist tool : this is the main tool for translation of the software.

  Here's a quick walkthrough :

   1. File Open, and choose one of the translation files (language_**.ts)
for example : language_fr.ts is the french translation
language_it.ts is the italian translation, etc

   2. On the left, you can see context.
The context is where in the code the text was found.
When selecting a context, you can see the list of text to translate.
When everything is done and up to date, a green check is shown.
=> open for example the language_fr.ts to see a finished translation.

   3. Adding translation :
Easy, select a text in source text, type the translation under translation.
You have hint in the phrases windows (for already translated words).
When Okay, click CTRL+ENTER to validate the entry and go to the next one.

   4. When finished, just save the .ts file and sent it to us.

HOW TO CHECK THE NEW TRANSLATION IN THE SOFTWARE:
-------------------------------------------------

  1. Create a binary version of the translation by using "release" in files menu of the linguist tool.
It will create a language_*.qm file.

  2. Copying

Windows : You just have to put this file in folder language, overwriting the file already existing there.

Mac : to add a new language in XnViewMP MAC its pretty simple.
      - You have to copy XnViewMP on your desktop or in the application Folder.
      - Then right click on XnViewMP package and select Show Package contents.
      - Copy the translation file (language_*.qm for instance) to Contents/MacOS/resources/language

  3. Checking

Reopen XnViewMP to reload the ressource and you'll be able to see the new translation in the
software. By default, the language used is the system language, but you can force another language in
XnViewMP option>Geenral (you'll have to restart XnViewMP for changes to take effect).

WHAT TO DO IF THE LANGUAGE IS NOT YET AVAILABLE IN XnViewMP ?
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Easy, create the .qm too, but overwrite another .qm in the ressource folder with this one by
renaming it. You can then try your language in XnViewMP, by selecting the language your
  overwrote.
