II. Master Install for Domino.Doc 2.0 Beta 1 for Solaris
============================================================
The master installation of Domino.Doc 2.0 Beta 1 for Solaris is a two
step process. First, you must run the installation program found in
the solaris subdirectory. After the installation program has
completed, you must then open the Domino.Doc 2.0 Setup database on the
server to configure Domino.Doc and complete the installation.

Note that if you intend to install a Domino.Doc replica server on
Solaris, you must already have installed a Domino.Doc master server on
another Domino server. There must be at least one Domino.Doc master
server on a network.

To run the installation program for a Domino.Doc master:

1. Shut down the Domino server on the installation machine if it is
running.

2. Launch the Notes client on the installation machine and switch IDs
to the administrator's ID for this server.

3. Change directory into the solaris subdirectory where you untared
the files, i.e.
	$ cd solaris

4. Become the root user with the 'su' command, i.e.
	$ su
	Password:xxxxxxx

5. Run the 'install' program in the current directory with the command
	# ./install

6. Provide the information requested by the prompts. (When prompted
for (M)aster or (R)eplica setup, choose Master.)

To open and run the setup database:

1. Launch the Notes client on the installation machine and switch IDs
to the server ID for this server.

2. Start the Domino server on the installation machine.

3. From a Windows 95/98 or Windows NT Notes client, connect to the
server on the installation machine using the administrator's ID for
that server.

4. Open the 'Domino.Doc 2.0 Setup' database (setupdd.nsf) on the
server.

5. Fill in the form presented and press the 'Continue' button to
complete the installation.

III. Replica Install for Domino.Doc 2.0 Beta 1 for Solaris
============================================================
The replica installation of Domino.Doc 2.0 Beta 1 for Solaris is a
three step process. First, you must run the installation program
found in the solaris subdirectory. After the installation program has
completed, you must then open the Domino.Doc 2.0 Setup database on the
server to configure Domino.Doc. Finally, you must replicate with the
master server and load the transaction manager.

Note that if you intend to install a Domino.Doc replica server on
Solaris, you must already have installed a Domino.Doc master server on
another Domino server. There must be at least one Domino.Doc master
server on a network.

1. First make sure that the Notes server you are going to install the
Domino.Doc Replica sever on can successfully replicate with the notes
server that the master is installed on.

(NOTE: Failing to do this critical step may produce unpredictable
results.)

2. Shut down the Domino server on the installation machine if it is
running.

3. Launch the Notes client on the installation machine and switch IDs
to the server's ID for this server.

4. Change directory into the solaris sub-directory where you
untared the files, i.e.
	$ cd solaris

5. Become the root user with the 'su' command, i.e.
	$ su
	Password:xxxxxxx

6. Run the 'install' program in the current directory with the command
	# ./install

7. Provide the information requested by the prompts. (When prompted
for (M)aster or (R)eplica setup, choose Replica.)

To replicate and load the transaction manager:

1. Replicate with the Domino server hosting the master Domino.Doc
installation, e.g. at the Domino server command prompt type
	> repl servername

2. Load the transaction manager addin task by typing the following at
the Domino server command prompt
	> load ddmtran

3. If you see "Transaction Manager Initialization", then the
Transaction manager is now running.

4. Go to Chapter 5 in the Domino.Doc Admin Guide and follow the
instructions, ignoring the section on "Installing Domino.Doc on
replica servers".
