HP OpenView Web : Troubleshooting

Listed below are a few problems that you may encounter when using HP OpenView Web.

HP OpenView Web

• If the context button does not display the related information in the content area, check your Web browser to ensure that Java Script is enabled. If Java Script is not enabled, enable it.

  If you cannot enable Java Script, due to security reasons, open the HP OpenView Web URL specifying JavaScript=Off. For example, http://pipeline.cnd.hp.com/OpenView?JavaScript=Off. You then need to restart Netscape. This will activate an [Apply] button for you to press after specifying the context you want.

Networks Context

• For HP OpenView Web to be able to access the maps in the Networks context, ovw(1) must be running on either a management server or a distributed console. If ovw(1) is not running, an error message is returned.

  For the objects to be presented in the table, all targeted objects must be in memory. If the map persistence level is set to Internet, objects on transient submaps will not be presented.

  Check with your HP OpenView administrator to make changes in the persistence level or with the on-demand submap feature of NNM.
