Attribute Expression

In order to encode or decode an 8-bit text event, the engine must be able to translate between event attributes and the ECDL data types used within the engine.

MDL attribute types map directly onto ECDL data types. The MDL types are:

  • Integer

  • Real

  • String

  • Boolean

  • Duration

  • List.

MDL doesn't support the ECDL types of Tuple, Time, or Oid, since either they aren't required in a native event, or they can be read or written using other MDL types.
