The following exercise is provided for you to test compiling MDL into event metadata. The example files are located in: $OV_PROG_SAMPLES/ecs/mdl Examine the file example1.mdl. This is an MDL definition of a text-based event. The file example1.evt contains text-based events as they would appear when output by an engine (eg. from an engine output log file). Compile example1.mdl, giving it example1.evt to perform a decode test on. The compilation will produce the metadata mdl.md. ecsmdlchk -e example1.evt -o mdl.md example1.mdl The resulting mdl.md would be placed in the directory $OV_PRIV_CONF/ecs/md/mdlwhere, after the engine is restarted, the engine's endecode module will read it. |
