SYNOPSIS

ecsmdt [-h] [-o output] file ...

DESCRIPTION

ecsmdt is the HP OpenView Event Correlation Services (ECS) Message Description Language (MDL) translator. It translates from MDL to a metadata file suitable for loading into the ASCII encoder/decoder.

Multiple source files can be specified on the command line. The translator treats them as if they are concatenated.

Options

ecsmdt recognizes the following options:

-h

Prints a help message and terminates.

-o output_file

Specifies the name of the output file. If this option is omitted then the standard output is used.

RETURN VALUE

ecsmdt returns 0 upon normal completion and >0 if an error occurred.
