- HP OpenView Event Correlation Services Confidence Test

SYNOPSIS

ecsconftest [-designer | -runtime |-DMruntime |-NNMruntime ]

DESCRIPTION

ecsconftest is the HP OpenView Event Correlation Services (ECS) confidence test. The confidence test can be run at any time to verify that ECS is correctly installed and configured.

Only the superuser can use the ecsconftest command.

Options

ecsconftest recognizes the following options:

-designer
Specifies that the confidence test should be run for the Designer component of ECS only.
-runtime
Specifies that the confidence test should be run for the Runtime component of ECS only.
-Dmruntime
Specifies that the confidence test should be run for the DM Runtime component of ECS only.
-NNMruntime
Specifies that the confidence test should be run for the NNM Runtime component of ECS only.

If no option is specified, ecsconftest runs the confidence test for all installed ECS components. Otherwise, only one of the above options must be specified on the command line.

RETURN VALUE

ecsconftest returns 0 upon normal completion and >0 if an error occurred.

Environment Variables

DISPLAY must be defined to test the Designer component of ECS.

EXAMPLES

To run the confidence test for the runtime component only:

ecsconftest -runtime

The environment variables below represent universal pathnames that are established according to your shell and platform requirements. See the ovenvvars(1) reference page for information on universal pathnames for your platform and shell. For Windows NT platforms, substitute the environment variables in Windows NT format. For example, substitute $OV_LOG with %OV_LOG%.

$OV_TMP/ecsconftest.log Output log created by the runtime tests.
