HP OpenView Event Correlation Services (ECS) is a high-speed real-time multi-protocol event correlator.

The product supports:

• SNMP and 8-bit text-based events
• CMIP events (DM-linked product only)
• events arriving out of order or delayed in the network
• multiple event output streams, with configurable event handling policies
• creating new events with data consolidated from other events or external sources
• monitoring for the absence of events
• deployment in distributed environments
• international platform standards

The major ECS product components are:

• The correlation engine
• The correlation designer
• The configuration and management utility. In an NNM environment, the correlation engine can also be managed using the ECS Correlation Services Java applet.
• The C API libraries
• The C++ API libraries
• The CORBA IDL files (UNIX only)
