The following exercises are provided for you to test sending and receiving events from/to an engine. The example programs are located in: $OV_PROG_SAMPLES/ecs/event_io Compile ecsin.c and ecsout.c with the provided Makefile. make clean make Ensure that a license server is running and that licenses are available. Refer to instructions provided by the license provider. Start the open engine on UNIX with: ecsd -i 1 On Windows NT, install the engine as a Windows NT service: ecsd -install Then start the engine service using the Services Control Panel application. There is no need to load a circuit as the default engine behavior is to pass all events through. Run ecsout to receive events: ecsout In a separate window, run ecsin to send events (from the file simple_events) to the engine: ecsin < simple_events The events in simple_events are text-based events. The metadata for decoding these events is deployed during the product installation. |
