Columbia's Amiens Cathedral Project was developed because of the monument's importance to Columbia's core curriculum. Included in the 1995 SIGGRAPH best animation reel, the project received funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Columbia's Digital Design Lab brought Gothic architecture to life by revealing the underlying geometric logic of the 12th century cathedral through 3D animation.
